The University of Lyon 2 is proud to announce the 11th edition of Postgraduate Cypriot Archaeology (POCA). This year meeting will be held from 19th to 22nd October 2011 at the Maison de l'Orient et de la Méditerranée "J. Pouilloux".
The POCA symposium offers an excellent opportunity to postgraduate students and young scholars, from various backgrounds and disciplines, who are currently carrying out research on Cypriote culture, to present their work, exchange ideas and meet people who carry out research in the same field.
We welcome all papers regarding archaeological, historical, anthropological, or rather material culture and art history. There is no chronological limit.
There is no registration fee. The admission to the symposium is open to everybody, and we invite all interested people to attend the communications.
Please send your paper proposal with title, an abstract of no more than 250 words and the name and address of the author (or authors), to Anna Cannavò, email@example.com Aurélie Carbillet,firstname.lastname@example.org later than July 31st, 2011. The papers can be presented in English or in French. Speakers presenting their paper in French are asked to join an abstract in English and to give their powerpoint presentations either in English, or with bilingual slides. Communications should be 20 minutes long, as they will be followed by discussion.
This year, we are very pleased to announce right now the publication of the acts in the next volume of the Cahiers of the Centre d'Etudes Chypriotes series (n° 41, 2011). In order to respect the deadline and guarantee a quick publication, we inform the participants that all the manuscripts should be sent to email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org the latest on November 15th, 2011. All submissions will be subject to peer-review, and therefore acceptance for presentation does not automatically guarantee inclusion in the final publication.
